All-around fitness for better athletic performance
In addition to world-class tennis instruction, Smith Stearns Tennis Academy makes daily fitness training an integral part of its programs.
Each full-time student receives a full fitness assessment, baseline testing, health and wellness manual, and professional guidance. All test results are confidential, used only by the Academy to benefit the student
The Smith Stearns fitness curriculum includes the development of functional strength training, speed, agility, motor control, balance, first-step quickness, core strength and dynamic flexibility. Students are also taught sport-specific testing, psychology, sports nutrition and the care and prevention of athletic injuries.
Local physicians, sports physiotherapists and orthopedic surgeons are also consulted to coordinate training and medical requirements, including Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy and targeted post-rehabilitation exercise.
Many of our athletes take advantage of private and semi-private sport enhancement sessions, focused on improving specific aspects of their performance.

Monday-Friday – 4:30-5:30 pm
Strength Training at the Smith Stearns Gym
Mondays & Wednesdays – 5:30-6:30 pm
Deep Stretch & Injury Prevention
Thursdays – 4:30-5:30 pm
Private On-Court or Strength Training Fitness Sessions with Marwin Kline or Lindsay Taylor
Sessions focus on targeted areas that need improvement, including agility, speed work, balance, first-step quickness, core strength, dynamic flexibility, strength training, and much more.
Private Sessions: $100.00 per hour
