Carter Wins Nationals
Hayley Carter won the national title at the USTA girl's 14 and under Hard Court Nationals this past week.
August 19, 2009 -- Hayley Carter does it again. This time around she was crowned the singles champion of the girl’s 14 and under USTA National Hard Court Championships, held August 8th-15th in Peachtree City, Georgia.
Carter defeated Christina Makarova of San Diego, California, by a score of 7-5,6-1 in the championship match. She also claimed a bronze ball in the doubles event by finishing 3rd with partner Sydney Campbell.
This tournament win marked Hayley’s third gold ball of her career, as she had previously won two others by claiming the girl’s 12 and under singles and doubles titles at the USTA Spring National Championships held last year.
