Peretz Reaches Quarterfinals of Winter Nationals
Caryssa Peretz made a closing statement to an already great year by reaching the quarterfinals of the USTA Winter Nationals in the Girl’s 18 and under division.
February 5, 2009 -- Caryssa travelled to Phoenix on a mission. Mission accomplished. She posted her best national result to date.Caryssa defeated Nikki Sanders, Carolyn Chupa, and Maria Mira to reach the round of 16. In that round she had an impressive win over Jojo Sanford by the score of 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-0. She then lost a tight match to 16th nationally ranked Stephanie Hoffpauir in the quarterfinals.
Caryssa’s 2008 highlights included a quarterfinal showing at the Gator Bowl National, winner of the Middle States Sectional Championships in June, quarterfinalist of the El Paso ITF, and semi-finalist in the USTA National Open in November. She is currently ranked #27 in the USTA National Rankings and rated #22 in her junior year by tennisrecruiting.net.
